About

This business is owned and operated by myself, Edwin James Lynch. It’s been going since 1998. I have a Communications Degree, a Multimedia Diploma and a Certificate in Search Engine Marketing. Besides building websites for small businesses, I’ve also spent some time teaching at Curtin University (web design, media production, computer programming). I started building Government websites (Conservation Commission, Forest Products Commission and The Education Department) in 1997 before opening Geoffrey Multimedia officially in 1998.

My sites are designed to international standards as outlined by the World Wide Web Consortium. They are Search Engine Optimized (SEO) – making it easy for people to find. Lean code ensures up-to-date, fast-loading sites. I can build real time, secure E-commerce, Paypal shopping carts and product databases and I also make simple 5 or 6 page websites.

Sites are usually maintained by clients via the robust Wordpress Content Management System (CMS). Some sites are maintained in-house.

Mission

To service a select, smaller group of clients. I have no ambition to grow my business and prefer to give personal, one-on-one service to clients within a reasonable timeframe and for a fraction of the cost charged by bigger companies. I have almost no overheads as I work from home here in Como, near Perth in Western Australia.

Customer Commitment

By working directly with your designer, communication is always clear. Fees are communicated in writing (usually email) before any work begins and you will not be asked to sign an update contract or commit to further work once your site is complete. Having said that, pretty much all clients ask Geoffrey Multimedia for updates as our prices are very competitive.

Why “Geoffrey” ?

Geoffrey is the business mascot. I designed a cartoon character for a fictitious business stationery set at TAFE College back in 1997 – and then I got a professional cartoonist mate to redesign him. Little did I know that Geoffrey would become a real entity.

By working with your designer you save. Don’t pay too much for your website. Expand and build as there’s an increase in traffic. It’s hard to gt found on the web and having a successful website is similar to running a second business. Start small and grow.
